SIMPLY THREADS BY AFN TEAMS UP WITH

THE AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION FOR A GREAT CAUSE:

Heart disease is a scourge that takes hundreds of thousands of lives in the United States each year. According to the Centers for Disease Control, heart disease is the leading killer of both men and women in the United States, accounting for one out of every four deaths. On average, one person dies from heart disease every 36 seconds in this country. Countless others face long term health challenges resulting from the disease. Furthermore, many of the risk factors contributing to this horrific toll, like diabetes and obesity, are on the rise across the nation.

Simply Threads by American Fashion Network (AFN) has teamed up with the American Heart Association (AHA) to fight heart disease, launching a multi-month initiative. It kicked off this week with Simply Threads' first ever pop-up shop, held in Syracuse, New York. A percentage of the proceeds from the event were given directly to Syracuse Go Red for Women, a local affiliate of the AHA. The event drew people from all over the Central New York community, raising both money and awareness for the issue.

Simply Threads will continue its efforts to raise money for heart disease research by contributing 5% of all proceeds from its online store until December 31st to Syracuse Go Red for Women. The store features the perfect items needed to prepare for the winter months -- simply the softest garments ever! No matter your size or age, you are covered.

Heart disease is causing too many preventable deaths, and taking too many people before their time. Simply Threads by AFN will continue to fight back against the scourge of heart disease with our community partners, and we're excited to offer people all over the country an easy way to purchase comfortable, high quality clothing while benefiting a good cause.
